Euro Mediterranean Innovation Camp


The Euro-Mediterranean University (EMUNI) is proud to launch the Euro-Med Innovation Camp, a unique innovation competition and training camp for youth in the region. EMIC is a new initiative for 2023 that aims to nurture innovation and creativity among 18-35 year olds.


The application deadline is February 3, 2023


Online presentation:


Successful applicants will pitch their ideas through an online platform to a panel of experts in the various fields of their innovation. They will answer questions from the jury members who will evaluate their ideas and select the most innovative and suitable ones to benefit from the workshop.


The workshop:


Competitors will be invited to travel to Slovenia and/or Morocco to be hosted at the workshop facility at EMUNI, Jozef Stefan Institute, Slovenia or EuroMed University of Fes, Morocco).


During the 10-week period, they will receive technical assistance and mentoring from maSer experts, experienced engineers, product developers and designers, and innovation experts. They will compete against each other through multiple elimination stages.


☝All travel and accommodation costs, as well as mentoring and prototype building costs will be covered by EMUNI.



Who can apply?


Eligibility Criteria:


  • Age: 18-35 years at the time of application

  • Residing in one of the Euro-Mediterranean countries

  • With at least a secondary education

  • A student with a higher education (graduate or post-graduate) or in work

  • With a new idea or invention that can eventually be commercialized

  • Must be the sole owner of the idea or assigned by the co-owners solely to present and develop it

  • The idea can be turned into a functional prototype in a maximum of 3 months

  • Innovation targeting one of these 3 thematic areas:

  • Hello

  • Renewable energy

  • Environment, including climate change

  • Good command of the English language


The finale:


This is a live event held approximately one week after the final stage. About 3-4 finalists prepare for the event through marketing training and presenting their prototypes/products to a wider audience of marketing and communication experts.


The event will be attended by an on-site audience, including mentors, representatives of partner institutions and other invitees. In addition, the event will be streamed live on Youtube and other media.


The final results and ranking of the contestants will be awarded with 50% of the jury and 50% of the public vote.


Time frame: June 8-9 at EMUNI in Slovenia
